I was lvl 18!
The problem with zone by zone leveling is all the quests require so much hoping around. I also dislike the 10 - 30 steps per guide, which is why we are slowly going to the 10 levels per guide. The reason the old guides were taken off the index, was we realized those were actually guides written for version 2.
I just wanted to add a comment, so I am doing that.

There are many different kinds of addons, varying from ones to aid with professions and others that aid in encounters.
As anyone knows from playing games on Steam, a video game is always plenty more fun with mods and addons in addition to the game itself.
Personally, I have always loved Auction House addons that help set prices for me. Quartz is a unique casting bar addon, as it makes the casting bar more visible and easier to see. Key features include the ability to change the size, text, icon positioning, and colors. Get Quartz here. Going back to the vanilla UI shows how many improvements Blizzard Entertainment made over the years. Not every UI improvement from the modern game will work with vanilla, and some mods have been created specifically for Classic players.
Here are the best of the bunch. Then select where you want to save it. Mac users must double click on the file to extract all of it into a new folder named after the mod. Then use 'Finder' to navigate to 'Applications'. Copy your new folder the one named after the mod into the 'AddOns' folder. Then the next time you start WoW from scratch your new addons will be active. This addon fully replaces your action bar with one that is completely customizable.
Using Bartender4you can change the positioning, size, and transparency of every action bar, which goes a long way in personalizing your own UI. One of my favorite features, though, is the ability to write macros that drive things like hiding action bars when I'm not mousing over them.
Tired of managing your inventory across multiple bags? Bagnon is an inventory overhaul that makes sifting through your items so much easier.
Instead of having multiple bags to manage, Bagnon condenses everything into one big bag and can automatically sort and group items by type. Colored borders tell you an item's quality at a glance, and a search function let's you quickly find what you need. Bagnon even tracks items across multiple characters, so you know what your alts have without having to log in.
Modern WoW has a handy journal that logs loot drops from all of its raids and dungeons, but Classic has no such luxury—unless you start using AtlasLoot Classic. This handy mod let's you quickly browse the loot tables for every dungeon and raid to see what bosses drop the gear you need.
It's a mandatory mod if you're already at level 60 and farming best-in-slot gear. One of the biggest conveniences in modern Warcraft is the addition of quest markers and objectives to the mini and world map. Once you accept a quest, moving to the relevant area will see a highlight of where to go.
One of the updates to Tooltips in modern WoW is an automatic item valuation the next time you find a vendor. VendorPrice attempts to help you decide what to sell or safely toss when you run out of bag space. Damage Meter Classic is one of the most popular damage meters in the modern game, and this is the Classic port.
It breaks down how much damage or healing you and other party members do by abilities, individual fights, for example. One thing that hasn't really changed about World of Warcraft since it released in is its user interface.
Thankfully, enterprising modders have created a host of WoW addons that add all sorts of wonderful functionality.
From addons that make managing your inventory a breeze to ones that replace the UI in its entirety, if you're not customizing your interface you're missing out on some serious improvements.
That's why we've rounded up a selection of the most popular favorites and a few of our personal ones to help you figure out which WoW addons are right for you and how to get started customizing the interface to be tailor-fit. Whether you're just getting started or are a hardcore player elbow deep in Battle for Azeroth, the latest expansion, this list will get you started. Downloading the Twitch app is your first step as it gives you easy access to a marketplace where most of the WoW addons on this list can be found.
The app automatically detects your World of Warcraft installation and makes managing and updating your WoW addons ridiculously easy. Now that you're all set up, let's take a look at some great addons to try. All of these addons except ElvUI can be found in the Twitch app, but I've also linked to sites where you can manually download them. Bartender 4. World of Warcraft's hotbars are easily the most outdated part of its user interface.
By default, they're quite small, can lack crucial information, and you don't have a whole lot of customization options. Enter Bartender, an addon that gives you full control of ten action bars including their position, size, and even transparency. If you're starting out in World of Warcraft as a brand new player, this should be one of the first mods you consider. Before long, your hotbars are going to fill up and become an annoying mess.
Bartender lets you set keybindings and position them perfectly for an optimal setup. More advanced users will appreciate the ability to program custom macros that can change the state of your action bars too. Deadly Boss Mods. The other major addon that you shouldn't be without, Deadly Boss Mods makes World of Warcraft's complex boss fights a little more approachable by providing real-time alerts to keep you one step ahead.
With this addon and its other versions for older expansions installed, you won't have to painstakingly memorize every boss fight. Alerts and camera effects will warn you of dangerous attacks or give you simple instructions.
Raid and dungeon timers are synchronized between other members of your group, which keeps everyone on the same page even if one player accidentally disconnects.
What I really love, however, is a tiny feature that auto replies to in-game messages while you're in a boss fight. This optional autoresponse will let whoever whispered you know you're kinda busy and tell them how much health the boss has left so they know if things are going poorly. World of Warcraft's inventory system is kind of a mess in the default version. Instead of having one large inventory, you have separate bags that store all the stuff you find while exploring.
It's cumbersome to deal with, but Bagnon makes this nightmare go away.
It replaces the entire inventory window with one large bag that stores all your items, but its other features are what makes it a must-have. For one, you can view the items even if they're in the bank of all your alternate characters on your account. Icons also have special coloring based on item quality, helping you more easily discern rare items from trash. A search engine in the inventory window makes finding specific items even easier and there's the always helpful sort items option, which cleans up your bags and groups relevant item types together.
You get one guess what this addon does. MoveAnything is a powerful tool that lets you adjust every UI element, giving you complete control over not just your action bars but quest list, portrait location, minimap location, and more.
If you've ever wanted to fully redesign WoW's UI, this is a good place to start. This is one of the most popular total conversion addons for World of Warcraft.
ElvUI replaces every single user interface element with a sleek redesign that is a lot more modern and readable.Go to Page View First Unread. One of the features is the target arrow which I think is super cool. And I want to rebuild that. Semlar posted his sizer idea lately and that is really useful here aswell. After that the target nameplate will be set to the correct alpha. We scan for the target nameplate and clear the sizer setpoints.
After that we can disable the OnUpdate by hiding the timer frame. The sizer frame has OnSizeChanged as an event. Thus once the nameplate moves it will let us know. Now we only need to calculate the position in relation to the screen center and have a texture position in the center of the screen that we rotate properly. Find More Posts by zork. Holy shit. I really would like to know how he'S doing those "plates" or "tooltips" or whatever it is: I can't imagine a way to render that stuff in a perspectively correct way I sat down and wrote the addon for the target pointer. I forget about what happens when a nameplate gets off-screen. Another nameplate may take its place. Works pretty nicely. Thus I could ease the movement a bit more. Duugu Me too. That 3D transformation lol.
He replied to my questions over at MMO. Maybe he will answer your questions aswell. Last edited by zork : at PM. I use targeting arrows with my own nameplate addon, but I try and connect all of the units that are targeting each other. Each set of arrows is just one texture sized and rotated to connect the frames.
Pretty much stole the idea from NPA, just a different implementation. As for SilverLion's interface, he did almost everything entirely in weak auras and swapping static images out for animations. Last edited by semlar : at PM. If you can extract some of the arrow code and post it I would be grateful. I want to take a look at it. What is up with his player model. I never know it woud be possible to only show the model and not the texturs and even more important it dosen't move e.
