Hey guys. Does anybody else get this message after they turn the ignition off? It only started showing this yesturday and today but on day 1 it didnt show it at all? I'm miffed and dont want to be ringing the dealer sounding like an idiot if it's something really simple. Cheers Northern Monkey. Location East Midlands, UK.
It's simply advising you that once you exit the car and lock the doors, they're effectively deadlocked and anyone still in the car wouldn't be able to get out in the event of an emergency. The warning message is intentional and nothing to worry about - it's standard. I have to admit that a couple of cars ago, when that warning popped up for the first time, I assumed the worst! A quick Google put my mind at rest. Location Southampton.
Completely normal. But also completely unnecessary. Location providence, ri. Location United Kingdom.Vw polo 1. Over the past 3 weeks my sons polo has been difficult to start. The engine turns over fine but it will not fire. To-day I removed each spark plug individually and checked for a spark. They all seemed ok. I also disconnected the fuel line and turned the ignition and the fuel seemed to pump through ok. One thing I have noticed is when turning the ignition to its first position, so as to activate the fuel pump, it takes quite a while for the pump to reach its pressure, about 8 seconds.
Could this be the problem. He has owned the car for 8 months and it has not been touched since, yesterday when he drove home it was running perfectly smoothly, no misfiring or anything. Do you. If you are getting spark at the plugs, check for fuel spraying from the injector s What is your engine code? I would need to look-up specifics.
It's always a good idea to scan for fault codes stored in the ECM. It sounds like to me the RPM sensor has failed causing the no spark condition.
Here are two guides to help walk us through the problem with diagrams below to show you where the crankshaft sensor is. Was this answer. Have changed the coil but doesn't get spark from new coil checked the fuses all fine Starts sometimes but not all ways.Car won’t start (no power no crank no nothing)
Installed new coil when you test coil no spark have changed coil with 2 new ones but no spark Was this answer. Do you know what the engine code is? I need this information to be able to tell you the diagnostic steps. The Engine Code is on the timing belt cover sticker with a bar code. Hi, just got home again.Forgot your password? Safelock is a mechanism to make the car harder to break into once it's locked. It disables the interior door opening levers.
Previous Mk6's had this message too. Word of warning - if you exit the car and lock it with one press of the key activating safelock then anyone remaining in the car will not be able to get out. I once got locked in my old GTI when my partner by habit locked it when he got out. He was gone for about 20 mins and in that time the car heated up VERY quickly and I couldn't open any windows or exit the car. It was a very unpleasant and scary 20mins!!!
I have looked through the User Handbook and it says nothing about it although it does explain deadlocking - and the option not to do so - it does not mention the message. I was worried that I was being told to go and check something. I was going to post a question on this very subject! Thanks guys and girls.

Not sure what set that message off though Messages Forgot your password? I often see this. Looked in the manual and couldnt make sense of it.
Everything works fine that I can tell. Standard across VW and Audi whenever turning car off. This stops anyone operating the interior door handles to get in.
It also stops anyone you lock inside the car getting out. My sister went with her husband to get some music scores, he got out of the car and locked it as he walked away, round the corner and to the shop. Tried to attract attention of other motorists but failed. Is it not meant for. I think you can setup that as a separate warning You can post now and register later. When I looked in the manual it said see an authorised service dealer. The dealership says its normal and don't worry "its just the car saying safelock has been activated". What concerns me is being told to "see owners manual" and then to be refereed to the dealer!
Has anyone else come across this? If you hit the lock button on your remote once it will deadlock the car. If anyone is still in the car they won't be able to get out i. If you hit the lock button on the remote twice in close succession, it locks the car from the outside but is not deadlocked so anyone inside can open the doors and get out.
Tiguan TSI, no mods Can this be done on any golf? I have the same message. Trying to work out if its a normal thing or whether there's a problem with the safe lock.
Essentially read the manual and see how it works if you have concerns go and talk to the dealer about it. Sounds like the dealership did a pretty average job at explaining the feature to you.
